So we haven’t had much content over the last few weeks and for that I do apologize. Other (read: paid) commitments have Jay working on other things, followed by an injury that has greatly slowed his output. My own prose replacement story has been slowed by my own other project that has sucked half my life away. Coupled with the loss of my old computer, it has been a major setback.
But here’s my promise to our readers. We will relaunch in October with new content. I have two prose side stories that I want to tell set in and around the Arc universe that will help flesh out the supporting cast members of our story which will keep us busy while Jay heals up and gets back in to gear with issue two. Then I have another special project that will eventually launch out of the pages of Arc, but more details on that as they become more firm.
Again, my apologies to our loyal readers. But it will all be over soon. Stay tuned.
After a little hiccup in the schedule last week, we are back as we finish out our little prologue of loving!
Stageshow kicks in to high gear with the next page, folks, so stay tuned!
I want to make sure that even though this is a super-powered comic, that I never drop the richness of fully realized characters for slam-bang action sequences. So I think a scene like this, that really focuses on Shania’s insecurities, works so well.
I would like to take some kind of credit for this one. Alas, all I did was throw that “Evolution Comics” logo in the corner and shrink it down to page side.
Everything else here is pure Jay. Awesome, isn’t he?
Here it is, folks. We close out April with the final page of Jay’s sketchbook pages and the final page of Shania’s Journal. I have really enjoyed this text and picture format (not to mention my chance to use Blambot’s awesome Catholic School Girls font. But next week we will return to our regular story pages as Jay and I bring you the beginning of Arc issue number 2!
See you then!
Shania’s Journal continues as we get some of her thoughts on her new best friend (and maybe more?) Ed.
And may I just say how much I absolutely adore these sketches by our ever-loving artist? He captures Ed beautifully, doesn’t he.
Don’t worry, we will see much more of her in our upcoming second issue!
Today, Shania’s journal takes a look at Bev.
We have been running these for almost a month now, so I am wondering what everyone thinks about them. We have a couple more left after this, so do you like them? Would you rather we just go silent between issues?
Let me know what you think.
We take a look at Flamethrow this week as our look in to the mind of Shania Wilder continues.
In site-related news, I am starting a new graphic novel project as part of the April Script Frenzy project. You can find my profile on the site here.
We are back today as we take our first peak in to Shania’s journal. We will continue our look for the next few weeks, all as we get ready for the debut of issue #2 very, very soon!
In the mean time, you should check out some of Arc’s MHP family members:
- Tales of the Living Legends: golden age comics rewritten to tie in to the Living Legends prose story. Updated every Monday & Friday.
- Metahuman Press: a new prose story from a wide range of authors updated every Wednesday.
- Pulp Empire: an anthology of new pulp fiction by modern writers. Currently in preview mode, it will have its official launch on April 1st! Updates every Thursday!
So as you can see, we have a lot going on across our line of titles! Be sure to keep reading, keep commenting, and keep encouraging us to produce the very best fiction we can offer!
