I want to make sure that even though this is a super-powered comic, that I never drop the richness of fully realized characters for slam-bang action sequences. So I think a scene like this, that really focuses on Shania’s insecurities, works so well.

Here it is, folks. We close out April with the final page of Jay’s sketchbook pages and the final page of Shania’s Journal. I have really enjoyed this text and picture format (not to mention my chance to use Blambot’s awesome Catholic School Girls font. But next week we will return to our regular story pages as Jay and I bring you the beginning of Arc issue number 2!

Shania’s Journal continues as we get some of her thoughts on her new best friend (and maybe more?) Ed.
And may I just say how much I absolutely adore these sketches by our ever-loving artist? He captures Ed beautifully, doesn’t he.

Shania’s journal this week takes a look at our beyond suave quarterback Winston.
Interesting fact: when I originally created the supporting characters for Arc as a teenager, Winston was a barely defined football player with the name Winston Salem. Smokers will surely get the (admittedly terrible) joke. He’s far removed from that character here, as readers will see in pages to come.

We are back today as we take our first peak in to Shania’s journal. We will continue our look for the next few weeks, all as we get ready for the debut of issue #2 very, very soon!
