We are doing something a little different as we finally make our comeback this week. I am still having computer problems which makes posting a lot harder, while Jay has some other projects eating up his time and making Arc pages slow a little while. But that’s ok, as I have a few little side stories to tell, and that is what we’re going to do. One of my many inspirations for Arc is Terry Moore’s Strangers in Paradise, and I always wanted to randomly throw in some text pages of story, spot-illustrated, like he often did. Tyler is going to be one of the two characters we meet that way, with the second coming up in a few weeks as well.
Here it is, folks. We close out April with the final page of Jay’s sketchbook pages and the final page of Shania’s Journal. I have really enjoyed this text and picture format (not to mention my chance to use Blambot’s awesome Catholic School Girls font. But next week we will return to our regular story pages as Jay and I bring you the beginning of Arc issue number 2!
See you then!
Shania’s Journal continues as we get some of her thoughts on her new best friend (and maybe more?) Ed.
And may I just say how much I absolutely adore these sketches by our ever-loving artist? He captures Ed beautifully, doesn’t he.
Don’t worry, we will see much more of her in our upcoming second issue!
We continue our look at Shania’s journal this week as we focus on Hotcakes. Long time readers may recognize this piece of art from our previews, but I think it fits perfect here as we continue to look at the aftermath of a tragic events at LBJ high school.
Next week we will have more of Shania’s journal, as we continue to study the after effects of Arc issue one.
We are back today as we take our first peak in to Shania’s journal. We will continue our look for the next few weeks, all as we get ready for the debut of issue #2 very, very soon!
In the mean time, you should check out some of Arc’s MHP family members:
- Tales of the Living Legends: golden age comics rewritten to tie in to the Living Legends prose story. Updated every Monday & Friday.
- Metahuman Press: a new prose story from a wide range of authors updated every Wednesday.
- Pulp Empire: an anthology of new pulp fiction by modern writers. Currently in preview mode, it will have its official launch on April 1st! Updates every Thursday!
So as you can see, we have a lot going on across our line of titles! Be sure to keep reading, keep commenting, and keep encouraging us to produce the very best fiction we can offer!
Here it is folks! After all these weeks, Arc #1 finally comes to an end! And man, it sure is pretty.
With the end of issue one, though, we have to sadly announce a month long hiatus from new pages. But stay tuned, as we will continue to bring you some new exclusive content in the great in-between issues.
Which brings me to a bit of fun. With several weeks to fill between issues, we would love to see guest pages from artists out there. So if you want to draw a one page story or pin-up featuring the cast of Arc, then do it! We will happily take any and all submissions and consider them as guest pages. I can’t offer any pay, but this is a great way to show off your art skills or advertise your own web comic. Send the page to submissions[at]metahumanpress[dot]com.
I hope to see some great art out there, folks!
